Thank you for shopping with Fungi Origin. This policy explains where we deliver, how shipping is charged, and how orders are handled. All products ship from our warehouse in Ontario, Canada.
1. Delivery Area
Fungi Origin delivers to three service areas:
- Greater Toronto Area (GTA): local delivery with online checkout.
- Rest of Ontario and Canada-wide: courier shipping, quoted per order.
- United States: courier shipping, quoted per order, with US import duties billed to the buyer.
2. GTA Delivery Fees
Orders of $350 CAD or more qualify for free delivery in the Greater Toronto Area.
For orders below $350, a $50 CAD delivery fee is added at checkout.
3. Ontario and Canada-Wide Shipping
For addresses outside the GTA, we ship by courier from our Ontario warehouse. Shipping is quoted per order based on weight, box size, and destination. Most Canadian addresses receive orders within 2 to 7 business days after dispatch.
Online payment currently serves GTA delivery addresses. For other Canadian addresses, contact us with your product list and postal code. We will confirm the shipping cost and send a payment link.
4. United States Shipping
US orders ship by UPS or FedEx ground service from Ontario and typically arrive within 3 to 7 business days. Shipping is quoted per order. As a reference, a 5 to 20 lb parcel to most US addresses usually costs CAD $35 to $100; larger orders can move by pallet freight at a lower cost per kg.
Duties, taxes, and brokerage are billed to the buyer. Since August 29, 2025, the United States no longer offers a duty-free threshold for commercial shipments, so every order is subject to US customs clearance regardless of value. Our shipments are sent on delivered-at-place (DAP) terms: the courier clears the goods and invoices the recipient for US import duties, any applicable taxes, and the courier's brokerage fee before or at delivery. The buyer is the importer of record.
Our dried mushrooms are grown and dried in Asia, so the country of origin declared on customs paperwork is the growing country, not Canada. US duty rates for that origin apply even though the goods ship from Ontario. We recommend US business buyers confirm the applicable rate with their customs broker before ordering; we can provide the HS code and origin details for each product on request.
Prior notice is filed with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for every food shipment, as required for food entering the United States. Please provide an accurate business name, delivery address, and phone number so customs clearance is not delayed.
To place a US order, contact us with your product list, quantities, and shipping address. We will confirm the shipping cost and send a payment link.
5. Order Processing Time
Orders are typically processed within 1-3 business days after payment is received.
Delivery timelines may vary depending on your location, order volume, weather conditions, customs clearance, and other factors outside our control.
6. Delivery Confirmation
Once your order is confirmed, we may contact you to arrange or confirm delivery details.
Please ensure your delivery address, phone number, and email address are accurate when placing your order.
7. Incorrect Address, Missed Delivery, or Refused Customs Charges
Fungi Origin is not responsible for delays or failed delivery caused by incorrect or incomplete address information.
Additional fees may apply for rescheduling or redelivery. If a US shipment is refused or returned because the recipient declines to pay duties or brokerage, the return shipping cost and any charges assessed by the courier are deducted from the refund.
8. Damaged or Missing Orders
If your order arrives damaged or incomplete, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with your order details and photos where applicable.
